About this program
SMSU's 100% online RN to BSN is built for working RNs with fully flexible, self-paced enrollment — no fixed credits per semester. Students are awarded 15 upper-division credits for prior learning upon completion of the NCLEX-RN, then complete just 30 nursing credits (10 core courses + 1 elective) plus 45 community health practicum hours, all online with no in-person components. At $305/credit — among the lowest rates in the region with reciprocity for WI, ND, SD, and IA residents. Curriculum emphasizes rural nursing, healthcare innovation, and evidence-based leadership. ACEN accredited. Graduates eligible for Minnesota Public Health Nurse registration.
