Admissions at Naugatuck Valley Community College

• Minimum GPA requirement for nursing applicants: A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better in all prior college coursework is required.
• Prerequisite course conditions:
• – Must complete English with a grade of “C” or better.
• – Anatomy & Physiology with a grade of C+ or higher.
• – Must also have high‑school or college Math and Chemistry, computer proficiency.
• TEAS (or HESI) test requirement:
• – TEAS exam is required for application.
• – Applicants are ranked based on a combination of their TEAS score, GPA, and Anatomy & Physiology grade.
• Waitlist and selection process:
• – 75% of slots filled by rank‑order (based on GPA, TEAS, and A&P grade);
• – Remaining 25% filled by random selection.
• – Unaccepted applicants are placed on a waitlist in rank order.
