• – For Traditional ASN: minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for admission consideration.
• – For high school applicants with 8 or fewer college credits: at least a 2.0 high school GPA or GED is required (students with 24+ college credits are exempt).
• – In scoring sheet, applicants with ≥9 college credits are ranked with point tiers, e.g., 2.0–2.49 earns 0 points, 2.5–2.99 earns 2, 3.0–3.24 earns 3, etc. Higher GPAs (up to 3.75–4.0) yield more points.
• TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) thresholds:
• – A minimum composite TEAS score of 60 is required to apply to the ASN program.
• – Fairmont State accepts TEAS V and VI (ATI TEAS), ADN TEAS—not PN TEAS.
• – TEAS scores: allowed two attempts per calendar year; scores valid for 24 months. A 60 does not guarantee admission; composite scores in the mid- to upper-70s are recommended.
• Prerequisites and waitlist notes:
• – Traditional and Hybrid/Weekend ASN tracks have no prerequisite course requirements; however, Hybrid/Weekend students are advised to complete as many non-nursing courses beforehand.
• – LPN to ASN track requires prerequisites: ENGL 1101 & 1102, PSYC 1101, NUTR 1110, and BIOL 1180/1181. CLEP exams may be used for NUTR and BIOL.
