• Practical Nursing (PN) Program Admissions:
• No overall acceptance or admission rate (%) is published; admission is competitive with a cap of 40 students admitted each fall. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
• Minimum ACT composite score required: 16.
• Pre‑entrance exam required (scheduled by Office of Healthcare Education), minimum cumulative score: 51%.
• Prerequisite courses: Anatomy & Physiology I with lab and Anatomy & Physiology II with lab (or equivalent), minimum grade “C”; these must be completed before beginning nursing courses, though acceptance may be granted beforehand.
• Competitive ranking system (“points”): factors include residency/previous enrollment, ACT score (e.g. 25+ = 4 points; 22–24 = 3; 19–21 = 2; 16–18 = 1), science course grades, and pre‑entrance exam performance (e.g. 80%+ = 4 points; 71–80 = 3; 61–70 = 2; 51–60 = 1).
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program Admissions:
• No admissions rate (%) is provided; admissions are competitive and contingent on meeting minimum criteria and available space.
• Minimum ACT composite score:
• Accelerated ADN: 18 (waived for current LPN or bachelor’s degree holders)
• Traditional (2‑year): 18

Format

Schedule and format at East Central Community College

• Evening/weekend delivery for ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing):
• ECCC offers an “evening/weekend track” for the ADN program, in addition to the generic fall track. The evening/weekend track begins in the spring, with a priority application deadline of November 1. The generic fall track has a February 1 application deadline. Source: eccc.edu
• “Weekend Warriors” Program Schedule:
• The Evening/Weekend ADN program (called “Weekend Warriors”) launched in January 2024 and takes place on the Decatur campus, with classes held Thursday evenings, Friday evenings, and Saturdays. Source: eccc.edu
